ALL THOSE YEARS HE WAS MARKED A CONDEMNED SINNER BECAUSE HE WAS BORN BLIND. WHAT WAS THE BLIND MAN THINKING ABOUT HIMSELF? WHAT WAS IT LIKE FOR HANNAH, RAHAB, AND AN ADULTEROUS WOMAN TO MEET GOD IN THEIR MOST DIFFICULT STRUGGLES?

Where are all of us in our need? When Jesus met us, were we deep in grief? Had we been rejected and isolated? Were we trapped in a mistake we made? Then we are no different than all the unexpected heroes in each devotional of this book. Christ's aim was healing each broken heart. Just as Jesus saw their troubles, He sees all our troubles, too. Our hearts are His treasures. He knows what it feels like to be an unexpected hero.
