by Douglas D. Brunette (Author)

How do you rationalize the occurrence of human tragedy and the simultaneous existence of a benevolent God?

During his 36 years working as an emergency physician in an urban, level 1 trauma center, Dr. Douglas Brunette has witnessed and experienced firsthand the entire spectra of human emotion, illness and injury. Daily unrelenting tragedies over many years resulted in his loss of faith and a belief in God.

After a personal life-threatening medical illness, his life-long irreligious nature was challenged. He began to see the imprint of a Higher Power in recollections of past interactions with his patients and their families.

Written in a heartening manner, each chapter narrative unfolds to provide an uplifting message that restores faith in human beings and in our Higher Power. Readers of Faith in the ER will learn to experience their Higher Power in places and situations where it appears there is no God. Faith, courage, and optimism will be illuminated even in the darkest tragedy. The reader will enhance the understanding of their purpose in life, irrespective of their socioeconomic station or the status of their health.

The true stories in this book will bring a smile to your face, and a warm feeling to your heart.
