Connecting In and Through Darkness: Journeying Through Liminal Space 2019-2023

by Maria M. Carroll (Author)

In this inspirational memoir, Connecting In and Through Darkness, Carroll describes her five years of liminal space, 2019-2023. During this time, she was moving from a long social work career to answering a deeply felt recurrent call to express her thoughts and perspectives through writing. The book is her journey finding Light in and through the darkness of confusion, uncertainty, fear, and struggle. The collection of essays and journal entries written during the middle three years reflects her process of connecting with self, others, the world, and Divine Mystery in the lifelong journey of increasingly living authentically.

Carroll invites readers to use her life's stories as and when they resonate with their own. and simultaneously to let go of her journey. Encouraging readers to draw on their own lives, she includes Reflection Questions and a Book Study Guide. For each reader, she concludes with this message of hope: as you experience and/or reflect on the darkness of your liminal space, may you recognize all the connections and interconnections you have and experience Light in and with all.
