by Joshua Seth Houston (Author)

Rest is often treated as an afterthought--a pause between periods of productivity. But Scripture presents it as something far deeper. In A Theology of Leisure, Joshua Seth Houston explores a biblical and practical theology of rest by revealing that rest is not only cessation from work but participation in God's ordered design for creation. This work demonstrates how rest is essential to human flourishing and spiritual formation. This book invites readers to reconsider their assumptions about labor, control, and peace. In a world driven by anxiety and endless striving, A Theology of Leisure offers a compelling vision in which true rest is found in aligning one's life with the divine pattern established at creation.
