The Word for Today
We are shaped by what repeatedly holds our attention. Paul describes transformation as beholding the glory of Jesus.
This change is the Holy Spirit’s work. We cannot manufacture Christlike character, but we can choose to attend to Jesus through Scripture, prayer, worship, and obedience.
Do not stare endlessly at failure. Confess it, receive grace, and turn your attention back to Christ.
Picture the Word
Imagine an open Bible reflecting warm light onto a thoughtful reader. The light does not merely surround the person; it gradually changes how the whole scene is seen.
Deeper in the Word
Second Corinthians contrasts the fading glory associated with Moses’ veil and the enduring glory revealed in Christ. Where the Spirit is, there is liberty, including freedom to behold the Lord with an unveiled face.
Transformation is progressive, “from glory to glory.” Growth may be gradual, but its direction becomes visible as the Spirit forms Christ’s character in us.
